Log Visits

The Log Visits component for Interaction logs information about each visit of your site. A visit is a sequence of one or more accesses to locations, making the visit log more valuable than tradidional server logs that only list single requests.

The visit log contains information such as when a visitor arrived at your site, the length of time he stayed, which page he come from before visiting, and a list of visited locations. Interaction generates the visit log in tab-delimited format or as XML content depending on your preference.

The visits log can be made available on the web using the XML entity reference &server.visits; The visits log is by default only shown to the webmaster, but this can be changed by modifying the access restriction of the entity.

Interaction uses several techniques to track visitors in a reliable manner without depending on cookies or ip-addresses. This allows Interaction to provide more accurate information about visits than any analysis of conventional log files.
